Hazim El-Haddad, MD, FACC, FSCAI specializes in interventional and structural cardiology and is board-certified in interventional cardiology, echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology. After completing his interventional cardiology fellowship at Johns Hopkins, he completed a secondary fellowship in structural heart disease at Lenox Hill Hospital. He has a special interest and extensive experience in the management of valvular and structural heart disease.
Prior to joining Virginia Heart, Dr. El-Haddad served as the Associate Director of the Cardiac Catherization Lab at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr. El-Haddad became interested in cardiology during his time as a Sarnoff research fellow at Johns Hopkins where he studied new therapy options for heart failure. Today, as a structural heart specialist, Dr. El-Haddad uses cutting-edge, minimally invasive therapies to address heart disease that could previously only be treated with traditional open-heart surgery. His mission is to provide the best possible outcomes for his patients, helping them get back to their daily lives quickly and safely.
In his free time, Dr. El-Haddad enjoys exercising, cooking, and traveling with his wife, as well as cheering for his beloved Baltimore Ravens.
