Mark C. Vives, MD FACC is a noninvasive general cardiologist with special interests in echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, preventive cardiology, transesophageal echocardiography and peripheral vascular imaging. He is the Medical Director of Virginia Heart’s Vascular Laboratory and is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. “Each patient that comes to our practice is a unique person with a unique life story.”, he says. “I enjoy getting to know my patients as individuals so that I can better understand what can be done, with the assistance of medical science, to help them lead the best possible lives within their own circumstances.”
Dr. Vives received his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine. He completed his internship, residency and cardiology fellowship at Harvard Medical School, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where he also was elected Chief Medical Resident. He is board-certified in Cardiovascular Medicine. He sees patients at our Fairfax Office location.
In his free time Dr. Vives enjoys running, hiking, tennis and biking. His other interests include photography, music and cheering on his beloved University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish sports teams. He lives in Vienna with his family.
