Mark P. Tanenbaum, MD specializes in sports cardiology and the diagnosis and treatment of adult congenital heart disease. He performs exercise stress testing, echocardiography and transesophageal echocardiography and is board certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine. “In this fast-paced world, I remind myself every day that I am lucky to have the privilege of caring for, and earning the trust of, patients in our community,” he said. “During my time with patients, I try to slow the world down just a little bit so I can get to know them as individuals and not merely as patients with medical issues. I do my best to find out how to make their life a little bit better each time we get together.”
Dr. Tanenbaum earned his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency at Georgetown University Hospital. He then pursued a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Georgetown University Hospital as well.
Dr. Tanenbaum is a native of the Washington D.C. area and an enthusiastic Redskins, Nationals, Capitals, Wizards and DC United fan. He enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, playing sports and enjoying the outdoors.
