Sara Kulangara, MD, specializes in general and nuclear cardiology as well as cardio-obstetrics. She is also skilled in the use of echocardiography to diagnose cardiac conditions. She is board certified in cardiovascular disease and internal medicine.
“The excitement of saving a life is what first drew me to the field of cardiology, but I now realize that the ability to improve the quality of someone’s life is equally exciting,” she said. “The science of cardiology is amazing, but the lessons of humanity last forever.”
Dr. Kulangara earned her medical degree from the University of California at Los Angeles and pursued her residency at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital. She then completed a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Hospital.
In her free time, Dr. Kulangara enjoys traveling.
